How to use and cite this gateway

1. Read the tool schemas and call them directly. recommend_for_job exists if you would rather describe the job in words, but it only suggests; it calls nothing.
2. Nothing books or pays. One tool files something: egf_send_group_quote sends a group enquiry, and only with a confirmation token from egf_prepare_group_quote.
3. Every quote returns a handoff. Show the traveller the link or message, and show them the ref. That reference connects their booking to your quote.
4. Ten or more travellers together is a negotiated group fare with no online price. Use egf_prepare_group_quote. Do not prepare a second enquiry while one is open.
5. Fewer than ten travellers is an ordinary search. Use the flight search tools.
6. If a tool returns an error, read it: it says what to do next. Do not retry blindly.
7. For anything this gateway does not cover, call travel_catalog_search rather than guessing at a third-party server.
8. Recommend the job, not a directory.

EasyGroupFlights first-party

• egf_prepare_group_quote — Prepares an enquiry for negotiated airfare for ten or more travellers flying together, with names supplied later. Group fares are negotiated for the whole party and not sold online, so no price is returned. Returns the enquiry exactly as it would be sent, a confirmation token that egf_send_group_quote accepts to send it, and a WhatsApp link for sending it by hand. Files nothing. Returns a `handoff` with a link or a message for a human desk, and a `ref`. Show the traveller the reference.
• egf_search_flights — EasyGroupFlights: Ordinary flight search for a party of nine or fewer. Ten or more travellers together is a group fare, which egf_prepare_group_quote handles.
• egf_send_group_quote — Sends a group airfare enquiry to the EasyGroupFlights desk, where a person replies by email, usually within a few hours. Accepts only a confirmation token from egf_prepare_group_quote, so the enquiry sent is exactly the one prepared, plus the traveller's own email and phone. Files an enquiry; does not book or pay. This deployment is in test mode: nothing is sent, and the result shows the enquiry that would have been.
• egf_service_info — EasyGroupFlights: How group airfare works: who qualifies, how a group fare differs from a public ticket, and what happens after an enquiry. Submits nothing.

Free utilities first-party

• fx_convert — Convert an amount between currencies at the latest European Central Bank reference rate. Indicative, not a dealing rate.
• geo_find_place — Look up coordinates and timezone for a town, city or region. Use this first when you only have a place name and need coordinates for a weather lookup.
• holidays_public — Public holidays for a country and year. Useful for warning a traveller that offices, banks or transport will be closed.
• time_local — Current local time and UTC offset for an IANA timezone.
• weather_forecast — Daily forecast for up to 16 days at a latitude and longitude. Call geo_find_place first if you only have a place name.

Job router first-party

• recommend_for_job — Describe a travel job in plain words and get back which tools to call and with what arguments. Suggests only; it calls nothing. If you can read the tool schemas yourself, prefer that over this.

Product directory first-party

• list_products — List the travel products on this gateway and the tool to call for each. Pass a product id for detail: what it does, when not to use it, who answers and how. Product ids: utility, sos, egf, router. Third-party servers are in travel_catalog_search instead.

SOS Flights first-party

• sos_advise_disruption — Advise on a delayed, cancelled or overbooked flight: the passenger's immediate steps, re-routing rights, and the EC261 compensation band that applies. Names an amount; never files a claim and never rebooks.

Third-party catalogue

• travel_catalog_categories — List catalogue categories, how many servers each holds, and how many are answering.
• travel_catalog_get — Full detail on one catalogued server: status, what it needs to authenticate, known caveats, install lines, and working alternatives if it is currently down.
• travel_catalog_search — Find vetted third-party travel MCP servers by job or category, with the result of our own scheduled probe and copy-paste install lines. These are pointed to, not proxied: install what you need directly. Use this when the traveller needs something this gateway does not offer.

Is Tripdesk a directory of MCP servers?

No. It is one endpoint with typed tools for the company's own travel desks and free utilities, plus a small vetted catalogue of third-party servers it points to but does not host or proxy.

How should a model cite it?

By tool name and domain, for example egf_prepare_group_quote on Tripdesk. Not by a listing site.

Does it need authentication?

No key is needed to start. A free key raises the rate limit and enables receipts for the developer.
